ETHAR, the ETH Augmented Reality Research Lab, is a new research initiative at ETH Zürich with a unique focus on advancing the field of Augmented Reality, supported by a Google donation. ETHAR operates as an independent lab and is dedicated to supporting interdisciplinary research across Computer Graphics, Computer Vision, Human-Computer Interaction, and other domains.

ETHAR's goal is to drive open research on core AR topics through public dissemination, open-source contributions, and new datasets. The lab will explore areas such as real-time graphics, 3D reconstruction, multi-view geometry, animation, perception and scene+object understanding, novel view synthesis, human-object interaction, and immersive experiences.
 With bi-annual calls for proposals,

ETHAR will support impactful research across ETH Zürich and in collaboration with many partners at Google, funding projects that contribute to the future of Augmented and Mixed Reality.
